The Melon Patch Players are a non-union, non-profit, community-based
organization. While a limited number of specialists on creative production
teams may receive mild compensation for their contributions, all stage
directors, technical hands, and onstage performers are involved on
a strictly voluntary basis.
do I propose a show or volunteer to be a director?
Board of Directors assemble play selection and production development
committees, which discuss materials for the forthcoming season and
select the artistic talents to oversee them. By the time a season
is announced, both materials and directors for those materials have
already been selected. We suggest that any petitioning for a specific
production or personal involvement be directed to our board inquires

technical staff. While several of our vital volunteers help to
oversee the physical aspects of our theatre's technical design,
we always welcome new and interested parties who wish to learn
how or to offer pre-established skills to lighting, sound, scenic
construction, costuming, properties, fly systems, and other technical
