When are auditions for upcoming shows?

Traditionally auditions for mainstage productions are held the Sunday and Monday evenings following the opening of the previous production, though this is subject to change.

We highly encourage you follow our social media (especially our Facebook page) and to visit our Auditions page for most recent updates, show synopses, available roles, and auditions requirements.

Are performers paid for participation in your productions?

No. The Melon Patch Players are a non-union, non-profit, community-based organization. While a limited number of specialists on creative production teams may receive mild compensation for their contributions, all stage directors, technical hands, and onstage performers are involved on a strictly voluntary basis.

How do I propose a show or volunteer to be a director?

Our Board of Directors assemble play selection and production development committees, which discuss materials for the forthcoming season and select the artistic talents to oversee them. By the time a season is announced, both materials and directors for those materials have already been selected. We suggest that any petitioning for a specific production or personal involvement be directed to our board inquires through

What if I want to be a part of your technical team?

At the present time, the Melon Patch Players offer no residential technical staff. While several of our vital volunteers help to oversee the physical aspects of our theatre's technical design, we always welcome new and interested parties who wish to learn how or to offer pre-established skills to lighting, sound, scenic construction, costuming, properties, fly systems, and other technical elements. Please contact the box office to provide your personal information so that it may be forwarded to the appropriate divisional coordinators.
