The Broadway hit that was later adapted into the iconic feature film, about the trial of two Marines for their complicity in the death of a fellow Marine at Guantanamo Bay in 1986. Navy lawyer Daniel Kaffee, a callow young man more interested in softball games than in the case itself, expects a plea bargain and a cover-up of what really happened. Prodded by Lt. Commander Joanne Galloway, a female member of his defense team, Kaffee eventually makes a valiant effort to defend his clients and, in so doing, ends up putting both the military mentality and the Marine code of honor on trial.
